Nella planimetria del 1680 il “bosco tosato coi suoi viali” era formato da un viale centrale di lecci bordati da cipressi potati in forma e da viali perpendicolarmente contrassegnati da allori anch’essi topiati. Dalla seconda metà del XVIII secolo, questa trama di percorsi è attraversata dal teatro d’acqua e dotata di un apparato narrativo di statue che scandiscono la prospettiva. I tracciati fungono da quinte che enfatizzano la scena che si svolge al centro.

Green wings 17th-18th Century Historic Garzoni Garden
In the 1680 plan, the “sheared wood with its avenues” consisted of a central avenue of holm oaks bordered by formally pruned cypresses and perpendicular avenues marked by laurels also topiary. Since the second half of the 18th century, this web of paths has been traversed by the water theater and equipped with a narrative apparatus of statues that punctuate the perspective. The paths serve as backdrops that emphasize the scene unfolding in the center.
